8 Millennium Development Goals: What We Met And Missed

MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Back in 2000 un created some millennium goals and the deadline for it was set 2015
~Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger (cut in 1/2 but 1 out 8 remain Hungary)
~Achieve universal primary education (increased from 83% to 90% but still 1 out 10 student is absent from school)
~Promote gender equality and empower women (meet at primary school level but men get more jobs than women)
~Reduce child mortality (17, 000 fewer children die a day but 6 million are dying before 5th birthday)
~Improve maternal health (fell 45% but still in developing areas 1/2 woman get the prenatal care)
~Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases (declined 40% but every hour 50 young women are infected by HIV)
~Ensure environmental sustainability (more than 1/4 got the improved sanitation but 2.5 billion people still don't have basic sanitations like toilets)
~Global partnership for development (economic trade continued to improved AID money hit $134.8 billion but focus is shifting away from the poorest countries were these goals are least meet)

the school I go to has this like as a subject and this year (8th grade) and every year we have to do a presentation about the 8th millennium goal in front of the WHOLE school =P

Damn, this video is bad. Decent motion design, but NO comparisons or relations, just thrown around numbers. What were the goals and how far did we achieve them? The question is not answered.
