Who could have imagined a BMW dealership shutting its doors and vanishing overnight? In late September, a passerby noticed that Beijing xingdebao, once Asia’s largest BMW 5S dealership, was eerily deserted. The once-bustling location didn’t even have a security guard in sight.

Unfortunately companies which have left or will be leaving, will never go back.

The West's infatuation with the Chinese market seems to definitely be over. This was a well-researched, detailed episode. Warmest compliments. Thank you.

Why the Chinese keep working for entities that do not pay them for months is ridiculous!
The moment they stop paying, they should immediately stop working!

Americans would NEVER work over a month without pay...2 weeks perhaps...but not an entire month!

The Porsche dealer in Cancun Mexico is in the same position. No one answers the phones, mechanics have quit, unfinished vehicles in the service department. I think they are struggling thru out Mexico, it is not just a China, or BMW problem.

The auto parts company I worked for for over 40 yrs. Closed the plant in 2020 and my job went to china and the rest went to Mexico
Needless to say I've been hearing things are not going very good with any of those parts that left America

Its hard to sell a luxury vehicle when the local "homegrown" knockoff has the same features at half the price.

BMW is the brand of cars the owner of the dealership is selling. The Chinese man who owned the car dealership is the snake in the grass… think don was on to something

All traditional automakers should leave China altogether and other western businesses

The used German business model is responsible for some of this. Selling overpriced unreliable products designed to need expensive maintenance and repairs will eventually become common knowledge. High prices will not bring the buyers prestige but headaches and ridicule.

Western companies shouldn't have invested in China believing they were making easy money but now they're paying the price for trusting the chinese ! Personally I wouldn't buy a screwdriver made in China 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
