Показать описание
KOILADA is a seaside village in the prefecture of Argolida and is located in the province of Ermionida, Greece. Its port connected the whole province with Nafplia and Piraeus until about the 50's, since the Epidaurus - Kranidi road was constructed.
KOILADA has several beaches near the settlement and during the summer season receives many visitors. It is best known for the Franchthi cave which is located directly opposite its port. Some of the most important prehistoric finds in Greece were found in the Franchthi cave. In front of its port, there is the island of Koronida which belongs to the shipping family of Livanos.
KOILADA's population, according to the 2001 census, is 1,106 inhabitants. The main church of the village is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary.
The small resorts of Doroufi and Kampos also belong to the municipal district of Koilada, which is one of the five municipal districts that constituted the Kapodistrian municipality of Kranidi.
