It's not a lack of police, it's a lack of prosecution.

You legalized crime. What the hell did you think would happen?

Most frustrating part to me is there’s no repercussions for thieves, but if you defend yourself against an armed robber, you get charged. It’s truly unbelievable.

You are giving a better report than anyone can find on any news station I have seen in a long time.

They don't try that shit here in Ohio. Why?
Two reasons. Ohio prosecutes criminals. Two...Constitutional carry. They may not survive the attempted robbery.

As a person from Taiwan who had lived in global south countries for years. I'd like to tell this : Congratulations, New Yorkers !!! You have just unlocked a new achievement : "Turning Your Own City Into Shithole."

They do punish crime. Carry a firearm and defend yourself.
As a law biding citizen, they will make an example of you.
You'll serve 10+ years in prison. You'll lose everything you've worked for your entire life, all for just standing up for yourself. It's absolutely disgusting.

Newyorkers did this to themselves on every election, voting for this. So, I won't shed a tear.

Another reason why I live in Ohio. I had a guy try robbing me in the parking lot of a Home Depot., 5 seconds later my gun was pressed to his head on the ground while another guy called the cops for me. Cops arrested him and was just sentenced to 8 years in prison

I’m a New Yorker who moved decades ago . I don’t feel sorry for New Yorkers, keep electing the same soft on crime politicians keep getting the same results.

This is what happens when no one is arrested and put in jail for 10 years

Brazil has this kind of crime all the time. People taking your phone and driving away on mopeds. NY is now like South America. What a dump!

It can not be worth it to live in New York city anymore.

New York was warned that this was going to happen. New York called critics all kinds of -ists and -phobes and said it wouldn't happen, that critics were just being negative. New York voted for this over and over. No sympathy, you got what you voted for.

Robbing someone's purse is a misdemeanor; Trying to get it back by attacking the thieve is a felony and subject to civil and criminal prosecution. You have been warned

Wasn't there a mayor once who arrested people for small crimes so they wouldn't commit big ones? Didn't he take thousands of illegal guns off the street and lower the murder rate from over 2000 anually to less than 400? And who reversed everything that mayor did?

This is EXACTLY the type of robberies (on scooter, in restaurants, etc) that occur in Bogota, Caracas, etc. So that is where its coming from.

As someone who was raised in Mexico, this type of crime is very common in all part of Latin America. This type of crime is coming straight out of the barrios of Venezuela and Colombia. It’s easy to escape on moped.
