I personally had Warbreaker as my entry point in Brandon Sanderson's work. Its got its own magic system that's explained throughout the story and the story just keeps up the pace throughout. Very enjoyable read as someone that doesn't read often.

Makes me think of one of my favorite magic systems from Brent Weeks' Lightbringer series, where mages can use different wavelengths of light to do all sorts of cool stuff.

Unfortunately though as much as I love Weeks, he has a history of waffling his endings.
