A Revitalized Weldon Library

This virtual walk-through of the new two-floor Learning Commons was created by our partners at Perkins+Will, and gives a sneak peek at how we plan to lighten and brighten what had become a dark, drab space, while still celebrating and accentuating the brutalist legacy of Weldon.

So many wonderful memories in that space. I'm a little sad that it will look so different from when I took my first tentative steps on campus, but I'm also incredibly excited for the kids that will create their own forever-memories. What a cherished place. Good luck! Can't wait to see it!

Honestly I much prefer the character of the concrete walls over flat white walls and what looks like hospital/morgue flooring. Also, why the green chairs, it would feel a lot more cozy if they were purple to match the schools theme. But could have been worse…
