I've been slowly chipping away at this level since about late March/early April I think, and I never expected myself to actually finish a level this good. At first I was trying to make fun gameplay while watching an AudieoVisual stream, and I tried replicating the way he does his simple but enjoyable async duals. Obviously, I went way too far and ended up making the craziest dual level I've ever seen... but in the end, I love where the gameplay ended up. I finished this layout just in time to try and decorate the level for Maymory. By May 1st or 2nd, I had made simple but complete deco on the predrop, and I had the gradient background effect thing done on the first drop. I wanted this to be the end of the deco, I didn't want this to be as detailed and cool as it ended up being. But as I added things over time to the first dual part, I realized it had the potential to be a really cool, flashy show that it is today. Over the two months following, I started slowly chipping away at the second and third drop parts, and before I knew it, I just kinda finished the level. I never felt like I was pushing through enything to get there, other then a couple times where I almost completely lost the level, but I always came back to decorating this, until I realized there was just noting else to add. This level became the best thing that I've made in the editor, even over Year Round somehow? I wouldn't have it any other way. I learned so much about the 2.2 triggers in this level, and even just how to make cohesive parts without relying on glow or block designs. This level made me a much better creator which I can put to use in future projects.
I'm starting to work on a platformer level now, which is completely different (I'm retrying Only Up from December again) but the things that I learned while making this level will help me so much. If you want to see me build live, or see more AWESOME entertaining videos, subscribe! I've been in a slump right now on editing mostly because I've been making this level, but I should be more motivated this summer to stream and actually finish some videos.
TLDR: this level is pretty good :)
