That was quite interesting to me about the torque of a more powerful lathe. I am about to order a 2 hp lathe as an upgrade from my 3/4 hp lathe.

Can you turn some spinning tops on a small lathe I rather enjoyed doing that I would make about 4 tops or maybe even 5 or 6 off of everyone’s scrap material that they would just throw away

Roger - love your videos. One request - can you work on the microphone or audio quality? The last few I've watched have had terrible voice quality - it seems like levels are too high (distortion).

I thought that it was a no-no to use a spindle roughing gouge on a bowl?

Awesome video! Learn lots from each one! I have one question for you, what angle do you have your bowl gauge? Just started getting use to sharpening tools by hand and was wondering what a professional like yourself has the angle at?

That roughing gouge is dangerous when used on end grain! A large bowl gouge is indicated for safety AND effectiveness.

u should show your results with more detail, seeing the finish product from far is not as cool
