Hoping this hits the US market. I took the weed eater head and installed a saw blade retrofit kit. While it does cut right through most stuff it will kick like hell if you hit something hard.

Yeah, good luck getting that replaced. My experience with Ego is that they will say it is a consumable item.

The attachment itself costs AU $399, even more expensive than the power head. Compared with the cheapest EGO line trimmer which only costs $199... It's hard to justify the price otherwise I really want to buy one.

Quite heavy. Attachment is very expensive. And spare parts are also very expensive. But as you can see here, it can make quick work of clearing certain types of brush and grass.
