Get a Loves card (they're free) and you use it every time you fuel up which gets you points you can use for anything in the store including showers. It's a cheaper alternative to getting a gym membership and you can get your toiletries and food there as well. I used to be a truck driver and NEVER paid for snacks and showers with that card.

I’ve always thought about this but if you live in your car but still work a job, get a gym membership. Gyms have showers so you’ll have access to taking a shower whenever you please

Living in a van should be a choice, not something culture and greed force upon a person. Pioneers lived in large wagons crossing the country. They lived in sod houses or log cabins. Some people live in caves for scores of generations as a family, culture. Opal miners in Australia live underground in some amazingly nice homes. All a matter of choice. But when you're hungry, homeless, considered unworthy it's not a choice, it's survival.

My grandpa has one of these vans. It's simple yet so practical. His old one (same model just a different style) had power seats and power rear vent windows so theoretically, if you wanted to open the far back windows, you'd have to go in the front, turn the key, and hold the switch. To slide the seat forward, you'd have to hold the button for 20 seconds. It also had middle seats that had to be picked up and carried out. The new one is missing the creature comforts of the old one but is so much easier to configure.

Beats paying rent! Like who can afford it anymore.. moved into my Element 3 years go.... now totally out of debt .. no light, gas, water bill either .. phew ..

I’ve lived in my car for a year. When you can’t find a public shower….it’s baby wipe downs. Starbucks stops are good for restroom bit stops or a clean Walmart. For families, it’s a major hardship. Not too bad if you can find WiFi for your phone movies and battery backup. There’s lots to consider!
