Great video! I just picked up an early 2008 first gen Macbook Air (1, 1) with the original SSD + 1.8 ghz processor. It's by no means snappy (and is nearly useless since you can barely use a web browser) but it scores a 10/10 for nostalgia, and is honestly pretty fun to play around with. The battery is original and only has about 200 cycles and is listed as "normal" condition within System Profiler. Oh and i paid 23 euros, so i can't complain too much. I can't believe people paid $3100 USD for this computer back in the day!! It's remarkable to see how far we've come. I can't believe the MBA has been out for nearly 18 years now.

hmm. interesting point about the 1.8" hard drive. Why not an SD card mod like an iFlash board? I think they recycled the drive from an iPod if I recall correctly. Beautiful computer, sorry to hear about all the craziness in life! It's a blessing to have you back, thank you! Keep it up bro

That is the Late 2008 model, the second model of the MacBook Air. The original MacBook Air was only able to run up to OS X 10.7.5 Lion.

You could consider using an SD Card using a CF adapter, the same used in iPods. try that.

got the same MacBook Air 2, 1 for like 25 Bucks and it had an almost new battery and the SSD installed

That is not the original very first Macbook Air, the first one (Macbook Air 1, 1) can only run up to Lion X 10.7.5 because it has a has a 32-bit EFI. I have been restoring one and if you think yours is unusable, think again!
