I am a professor at a military academy. I follow the recruits' schedule, at 23:00 we are in our rooms at 6:00 in formation in the courtyard. Obviously I don't fall asleep at 23:00 p.m., I take a shower, I watch TV, I waste time on my cell phone. I'm 43 and I feel great. In fact, when I go on vacation and go home and sleep more, I wake up late and so on... I feel terrible and everything hurts.

I feel better doing 6 maybe 7 vs 8 or higher. The longer I sleep the worse I feel when I wake up.

I will have to disagree from the age of 13 until now at 57 I sleep no more than 5 hours a night and have no problem

6 hours a night makes you feel so much more refreshed rather than 8 or more.

I call bullsh*t!! Been sleeping on 5 or less hours of sleep for over 15 years, full 10 hour work days, 1:15 minute gym, repeat!!! ZERO problems.

This is exaggerated plenty of healthy, successful people. Get less than 8 hours of sleep regularly. I’ve had this conversation with my own doctor. Some people sleep need that 8-10. Others can survive on 4-6. He is just trying to make a point, but there is no evidence proving major health benefits or detriements when sleeping 6 vs 8 hours.

I've ran on 6 hours for 35 years!! The only impairment I had or have is listening to idiots like him say that nobody can do it!

If you have sleep apnea then you can feel worse after 8 hours until you get a C-Pap machine. 💤😴

This guy is wrong I've done it for many years. If I sleep longer I feel horrible and feel like I never slept for days. And believe me I'm older than this guy. I'll keep my five hours a night.

i sleep 6-7 and feel money, i sleep 8 or more and feel actually hung over and groggy.
