Saw Public Enemy open for the Beasties on the Licensed to Ill tour in 87. My jaw dropped. Straight amazing and life changing.

I don't care what people say, LL Cool J should be in the rock & roll hall of fame. It's long overdue.

Chuck D, what a guy. Imagine getting props like this from him.

Very accurate about RUNDMC bringing rap to the edge of suburbia and the Beasties driving it straight into town. Very very beautiful way to put it

Towards the end LL Cool J looks choked up with gratitude for the help and props he got off The Beastie Boys at the start of his career.

They get LL and Chuck's respect so that's more than good enough for me.

Chuck D is one of the great public speakers of my generation. Also, he has integrity.

I grew up on Beastie Boys. I did a rendition of "Intergalactic" for an English class back in 99'. I changed the words to tell the story of "Beowulf". These guys were the soundtrack of my childhood. Hat's off to you true pioneer's! No one, or group, will ever fill their shoe's!!!!

Hip hop and rock have so much in common at the roots of their culture. A healthy disrespect for authority, a willingness to explore outside boundaries. The genres are two sides of the same coin, and fit so well together when people embrace them.

I grew into adulthood with Beastie Boys, same age. Got to see them in 1992 with L7 and House of Pain and in 1994 a Lollapalooza. I love those dudes. Thanks Adam, Adam and Mike.❤

The Beastie Boys' "Licensed To Ill" was a phenomenon. I was in college in Thousand Oaks & even when visiting South L.A. we absolutely LOVED these guys.
