Loads to cover this week with a SpaceX Hardcore Starbase and Starship Surge, Russias Nauka Causes ISS Tilt (unintentionally), and SpaceX Wins Europa Clipper mission. There is a massive push for Ship 20 and Booster 4 along with the site infrastructure to support it as soon as possible. You won’t believe the amount that has happened just this week. SpaceX wins with Falcon Heavy, a hairy ride for the Nauka module, and some very interesting updates from Blue Origin.

I've always felt a little disapointed that I was born after the first space-race and missed watching the moon landings live. Turns out I'm just in time for the 21st Century space-race and I'm so excited to watch it all happen!

As someone who spent almost 15 years in the aerospace industry as a software and systems engineer, I want to make sure the project managers get a shoutout: the beast-mode project planning required to do what SpaceX is doing here is just as impressive as the engineering technical work going into it. Without it, the extra people would be standing around or running into each other, but it looks like an incredibly well-coordinated effort. Kudos!

Tbh seeing blue origin actually try and maybe in a future become a real competitor, makes me happy, the more ways we can go to space the better.

Hats off to all the truck drivers who have delivered every last element and part of Starbase and Starship. And hats off to the manager(s) coordinating all this action, ensuring everything arrives when it must. It's all truly amazing.

Imagine your a member of this construction crew and you get to brag to your grandchildren the part you played in making history. Every job is critical; from welding to operating a crane.

That part where all the staff members are kneeling to a single exposed raptor engine, is epic out of a sci-fi movie tribal colony.

Marcus always a pleasure to watch the most comprehensive report about Starbase1. I worked with the team that did the Space Shuttle cargo doors on the Space shuttle flight. There were problems!!! Please advise whom ever it concerns the the locations of the hinges are critical!!! Is why the doors froze open on the first flight. I'm prolly the only living member of that team at General Dynamics still alive. Glad to see they are moving to double doors.

spacex is going through the same thing every ksp player goes through when they realize the mk3 cargo bays are the only ones viable for reusable cargo delivery

I feel like this video could be "what happened in the last month" at Starbase and I would be amazed.

Yet again I still find it exuberating that Space X is building these thing pretty much in open air . Shade Tree Space machines ?

I find it very cool that we live in an age where Marcus was just able to ask Elon about the height and he did

1000 cubic meters is 13 times the payload volume of the space shuttle. Mind blown.

Edit: Google is erroneously giving the 71 cubic meter habitable volume as the payload bay volume. The payload bay volume is actually 300 cubic meters.

These MH updates are one of my favorite weekly activities. Thank you for the thorough and well edited reporting.

I have heard several accounts of what happened with the Nauka, but none have been as clear and concise as yours. Thank you, Marcus.

For anyone else interested in comparing Starships cargo capacity to the Space Shuttle, the Space Shuttle had a volume of about 300 cubic meters and a capacity of 27, 500 kilograms to LEO. Starship will have around 1, 000 cubic meters of volume and a payload capacity of ~100 tons.
If SpaceX meets their projected capacity, which I think they will, they'll have 3.5x the volume and nearly 4x the payload capacity in a fully reusable rather than partially reusable vehicle. A worthy successor indeed.
