4:00 To clarify, it's not that local nobility was polygamous; it's that they did not automatically disinherit bastards like the Western nobles did. Illegitimate sons had just as much right to inherit the throne as legitimate ones, as long as their father recognized them; they did start at a disadvantage, but relations, power, and ability could carry them far.

Fun fact: In romanian, "Dracul" can mean either dragon or demon, historically. Although in modern era it seems to swing more towards the second term.

The crusade mentioned around 8:08 was the one of 1444, which ended with the great battle of Varna, in which the young King Władysław III of Poland and Hungary died. Because this story needed even more Vlads.
