That micro usb is a deal breaker, it should have been usb-c.

Having to charge a guitar is an insane concept to me

couldn't you velcro a small powerbank to the back and keep it plugged in - would also fix the neckdive - ridiculous I know, but I'm just a solutions guy xD

Its good to see there are still youtubers who dont blindly praise every guitar they get after playing it for 2 days

It is not only the worry about charging; what happens in a few years when the battery life goes to crap like it does on cellphones? How much time and money are you going to spend getting the internal battery replaced?

I've been playing one for several years, without issue. The Micro USB is stupid, and they should offer a way ( blue tooth app?) to check the level, but, the battery lasts a LONG time. That trade off, IMO is worth it. The guitar sounds fantastic and after having a Taylor T5 and a Godin, it is the best of them imo, but those 2 features need to changed/be updated/

The neckdive alone is enough for me to return it 😄

We have the Mexican, it's fine. Good not great. But it does the job live.

So many love this guitar here. Wow. Add me to the list. Four years with an Acoustasonic Stratocaster and it always brings a smile. So light. Unique sounds. Mine has a dirty to dirtier position one that can be dialed in for a tasty crunch. And you can run a long cable USB right in and have infinite charge. After all, you’ve got an amp, so there must be electricity around. Ever heard of a cube tap?

as everyone else has commented... the charge lasts 20 hours. thats not a deal breaker for anyone. charge the day before a gig and you are good to go.
You can also charge while playing so in a pinch you could plug in a small portable charger and attach it to your strap.

The battery longevity on these is no issue. It'll easily last a three hour set - I've done it. I've had mine four years now and it's been gigged often. They're great guitars, and they play like a Tele and they're so light, they're a joy to gig.

I have 2 American Acoustasonics, one Jazzmaster and one tele. (Got a great deal on the tele, used and in mint condition.) I LOVE them both. I think most people who have been using them would agree they are among their favorite guitars. I haven’t noticed nose dive. And I can easily charge either up while they are hanging on my music wall. For a few bucks, you can get these awesome magnetic charging cables that come with a port adapter to make the cord magnetize to it anytime you want to charge. Makes for no fumbling to insert the cord and less stress on the charging port on the guitar. Maybe give it a few more days before returning?

I have had the American Acoustasonic Telecaster since 2020, and I use it to gig weekly since, many times multiple times per day/week. It plays fantastic and sounds great and has never let me down even when due to my own actions I didn't charge it. When I unload my gear I plug it up I have a guitar hanger installed right above the wall power outlet. I hang it up and I plug it up after every gig and unplug and put it in my case when I load up. I Have done multiple gigs in a single day and it's never let me down not once (I'll explain). There was a single time early on when I didn't fully charge it, perhaps I didn't plug the cable in correctly / fully that particular time. After that human error I now check and verify that the charging light is on and it is plugged in and charging. That being said on this single occassion when the battery didn't charge fully I simply switched it to the electric pickup which works without the battery. In this one instance I just finished the restaurant show with a telecaster sound as opposed to the more typical acoustic sounds I would have been using.

I’ve had the American version Tele acoustasonic for a few months now and I gig with it. I was on the fence at first, but I really like it!
Covers all the bases, at times I need to reach higher than the 14th fret. I don’t notice the neck dive because it’s only around 4 pounds, it’s already intonated and set up, 22 frets, ebony fretboard, comfortable neck. I can cover just about any song. And it has a percussive feel, along with some great acoustic sounds.
I don’t care that I have to charge it. To me it’s just more practical than a big acoustic.
Works for me

I have owned the American tele version for over a year. I enjoy the guitar. It's fun to play. I have played it on more than 50 gigs and never had an issue. At first I did not love it but after playing it for awhile I have grown to love it! So comfortable when you are standing for hours. Never had had a charging issue or any other issue. Never has failed me live. Love being able to switch to the tele pickup to solo on. I also own a Taylor and a Maton and will switch out depending on the gig, but I love to play the Acoustisonic. Much easier on my 58 year old hands lol.

I have one and I absolutely love it. The battery is a non-issue for me, it lasts about 20 hours and I always charge it before a gig anyways. If I’m unsure, I can run a small battery pack in my pocket with a usb cord, but it’s never come to that. The neck doesn’t dive on me, but then again I only play standing up. Sure, it doesn’t sound exactly like my Martin acoustic or my Fender Telecaster, but I didn’t expect it to, either. It has its own tone and vibe which I liked in the beginning-and now I love. And the real reason I got it was because I wanted an acoustic guitar that could cut through the mix in a band and also have the playability of an electric. And it’s absolutely amazing at that.

I have one of these. I have never had a drama with the battery going low.. ever. It appears to last forever. The amount of people at open mic night who have problems with there battery on these acoustic guitars being flat appears to be far worse. As said previously in the comments, you can play it plugged in and if you are that concerned then a small battery pack would give you hours of extra power. In my opinion this guitar it try's to cover all aspects and I feel it does more than a reasonable job.

I have the acoustasonic jazzmaster & the charge lasts a very long time. Jack White tours with an acoustasonic for years & it works well for him.
