They don't want to sell any cars. Just a compliance product

I can see there not being any car manufacturers in Japan in the not too distant future. They all seem to be making bad choices. Honda have recently released the e:NY1 in the UK, which has equal or lower specs in every way to my 2019 Kona Electric, which was originally released in 2018. Things have moved on a lot in those six years and yet Honda are going to be trying to sell this, essentially already out of date, vehicle in the UK with a higher list price than the Tesla Model 3. Brand loyalty may get them some sales, but I can't see it being enough.

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

As a GM fan and a BYD fan, I think it is funny that a Lyriq is much more expensive than a Song.

There are 2 things going on here. Both are not optimal by any means. 1. Cadillacs (oem EVs ) are not being recieved well for many valid reasons. GM has bit the bullet and spent odles of $$$ on a EV manufacturing line.
2. Hona/ Acura is not convinced in the same Kool aid as you push in your videos. SO, they are partially committing to this Acura EV, while codting more to make with GM, it is still less the ridiculous capital investment of them tooling their own factories... until the US customer shows they are interested.

Hey Sam. I see people buying more expensive EVs than a Model 3 in my neighborhood and I am thinking these people are crazy but they are falling for the smoke. The Lyric site doesn’t show the tax credit. It is almost as if they don’t want people buying.

Honda is the one car company, other than Tesla, that lowered prices after the pandemic. While I think their quality has suffered, at least they are not gauging the public. Go look at the starting prices of a Honda Accord, $27, 895. Also go look up how “American” Honda is right now. Last year Honda/Accura had five of the top ten cars that were most American built in the USA. This was better than GM, Ford, or Stellantis. While I want Honda to get serious about EV’s, they are a very American company that needs to be praised for building cars in America.

I think this will sell well until they can get their own EV maybe because of the Acura fanboys? I would never be in the market for any EV at this price! I could be wrong but my GM has been super reliable and love it!

Honda was known as an affordable/capable/reliable auto manufacturer. That they would move into the high end EV market is puzzling, but understandable since they want to price for profitability, not just the #MeToo movement into EVs. Certainly, if they can scale production there will be cost adjustments, but there is no way they can compete with Lyriq, Lucid, or Mach-E 'brands'. However, ...Vinfast, Hyundai/Kia, and Toyota should be concerned if Honda is serious about remaining for the long haul.

Honesly I'm really beginning to think that these companies and throwing out stuff like this so that it fails, doesn't sell and they can then complain that it isn't feazible the need another 15-20 years to make it work right.

Brand loyalty is going to be a thing of the past as people will look and see the same specs and it is far cheaper in X or y Brarnd. They will get the sale and I do fear for many of the legacy car makers as they seem to have completely misunderstood what is going on in the world. I keep seeing more and more EV's on the road, so they are not going away.

Then GM don't have to sell them to customers as they have a great customer already Honda that's like being a wholesale supplier

Lyriq has horrible reviews on Edmunds. Some are in dealerships for months for repairs.

My wife and I are in the market for an EV SUV. Teslas are out of the question after some of the service experiences my in-laws had with their Model S and, in fact, just traded the S in for a Lyriq Luxury 1. As a Honda/Acura fanboy I personally prefer this over the Lyriq for the more squared-off rear quarter, that'll mean just a little more space for stuff. Much needed with a second child on the way.

People who buy cars from Acura and Lexus are buying because of the service and their treatment in the lifetime of the car. High-end buyers have a different mindset.

By definition, it’s not a Honda. Does anyone ever get anywhere near the spec. on mileage in an EV, aside from those living in San Diego CA, where it’s nearly always temperate

GM = Chinese
