Is Asus Zenfone 5Z waterproof or water resistant? Can I use Zenfone 5Z underwater?

This Zenfone 5Z waterproof test includes washing test, shower test, and immersion test. In the former 2 tests, my Asus Zenfone 5Z performs well. That makes me feel confident to put my Zenfone 5Z into the water. So, in the immersion test, I planned to put Zenfone 5Z in the water for 5 mins. But some bubbles come out of the phone when I just put it into water. Luckily, that doesn’t matter. The device was still working normal after I took it out of water.
However, I found that the Zenfone 5Z is not waterproof in immersion test. I put the smartphone into the water box. A lot of water went inside the phone.
If you drop your Zenfone 5Z into water accidentally, you should open it up as soon as possible, disconnect the battery and dry out the moisture. In this video you will also know how to save zenfone 5z from water damage.

I'm really impressed! That's not even a waterproof phone, and it just keeps working like it was nothing! ASUS did a really good job on this phone.

In ASUS' defense they never claimed water proofing/resistance. Also, these are tests taken to extremes. I don't know anyone who'd take their phone in the shower let alone dip it with the charging port facing up. These tests do illustrate that the phone is capable of surviving basic water damage which is good enough for me. Hell, I know that when I buy the 8GB/256GB variant in the coming months I'll protect it as much as possible but it's still good to know that even during these rains it will survive some damage. So it's ok if some water get on the phone, but if any water gets inside the charging port or the Sim card tray your pretty much screwed.

If it's that easy to restore functionality, I think it'd be just as easier to find some rubber gaskets and sealing tape and water proof this phone yourself, right? DIY sealing along the edges seems to do an okay job, ala JerryRigEveryhing's tear downs.
