From the USA, Indiana.

Thanks for the video! Just getting back into mini models, after completing my last one in the 70's. Got my new airbrush system today, this video gives me that PSI starting point that I was looking for.
I hope my old eyes will hold out doing this again.
I look forward to more of your videos.

Great video! Your info makes so much sense. A great reference for a good starting point in finding the sweet spot for consistency. Well done.

Thank you ! I'm new at this and this is just what I was looking for. I was practicing dots up close and most of them looked like spiders. So either the paint is too thin, or the psi is too

Thanks for info. I’m looking to have more consistency and PSI has a lot to do with it.. I need those thin light lines currently working on canvas

Very useful and straight to the point, I haven’t bought one yet because I’m researching techniques and best model for beginner/ use, I’m looking at the FENGDA BD-130K which doesn’t have MAC dial but for first airbrush I’m not too bothered, I plan on buying a very good compressor though (FINE ART A-7000), which does have good adjustment of PSI, my only stress is knowing wether the price/brand of the airbrush is important at this early stage
Your idea of a base PSI of 25 makes sense and with all the different types of paints it would be easier to change the viscosity of the paint rather than constantly changing the air pressure
Happy new year btw

Hey Rob, great video mate I could here the difference when you were using the thicker paint compared to the thinner one just goes to show that you can tell if your paint is mixed correctly just by the sound it makes👏👏👊👍

I am a complete noob to airbrushing.

Received one as a gift (just the airbrush set, which apparently is quite a decent unit). Just the airbrush. Purchased a battery compressor, to get the feel of things. Was awful, PSI topped out around 15 at the nozzle. Decided I liked the way it worked, but didn’t want to spend a fortune on a compressor. Purchased a basic full kit, which included a small AC compressor, with three PSI settings, maxing out at 40 PSI, I believe) which works well enough for my purposes (painting miniatures). Included airbrush did not have a dial to change PSI at the nozzle, but my original airbrush does.

Why does the airbrush have this dial, when you can set the pressure at the compressor? Is it so you don’t have to keep changing the PSI at the compressor, or some other reason?

Cheers,

Is the pressure set as static or at flow?
What I mean is do you set the 25 psi whilst holding the air down or when the air is off?

short simple and exactly what i needed when i started airbrushing, i cant tell you how much time i wasted playing the is my PSI right, am i doing something wrong? is this paint broken? when i first sat down with my "ready for airbrush paint" that i didnt even know i needed to dilute.
