Bro, it's a repetitive stress injury.
You'll need two things:
1. Time off
2. Some form of traction device to reduce stress on the neck during long operations.

I've had whiplash about a dozen times from biking, snowboarding and a car accident. Eat beats, lemons, ginger, garlic, avocado, take glutathione or nac with natural antioxidants, also magnesium, do some sort of nerve stimulation and eat plenty of protein. Those have been the things that have helped the most. Hope it's nothing serious

Look for the stylohyoid ligament and muscle. Only 4% of the world have it. The motion of bending your head down, it is right between the carotid artery’s of the neck at the base of the skull. It could be bilateral or just on one unilateral. Please keep us posted.

Most people miss it.

Oh Dr. Webb!! I hope you're okay!!! I know I'm waiting to have surgery but I want you to be okay and not in pain. Please do whatever you need to do in order to take care of yourself. The world needs your care and expertise.

Anxiety or childhood trauma. 😂 True story, that’s what I was told. However, stress tenses up the muscles. After working out and holding a position for hours, your muscles stiffen. If you have some structural damage, it could be irritating a nerve. Hopefully it’s not 24/7 and going down your arm.

As a spine surgeon, you should take this video down. All you’re doing is getting anybody and everybody to think that they always need an MRI for everything. One of the bad parts of spine surgery is always ordering MRIs on everything and studies show that the more MRIs that are ordered the more surgery occurs.you should just man up and do some trigger point injections on your neck, especially if it’s sore to the touch. Being in the flexed position regarding the cervical spine is more likely to be a myofacial issue. You haven’t mentioned any symptoms of discogenic pain.
