You describe and explain things extremely well, without unnecessary details. Many times even before I think logically and put my self in the place of the manufacturer and to ask myself "why would this be like that", you already mentioned it. Auto Dimensions can be edited in the drawing and the changes will apply to the 3D model.
You can rotate drawing view with 3D Drawing View command rather than trying to mess around with Current View.

Given your background, have you considered giving practical real-life biomedical examples ? There is one main advantage of the sizes from "Model items". When changing the size in the drawing, the model will also change size, which will speed up the work
