Pro tip. Use ear plugs for bolt holes that are going to be used. Saves time chasing threads.

Best to give the hint of using high temp primer and high temp paint…it’s always fun to build an engine…and watch all the paint heat up and bubble away on the first start up 😂

Nice to see someone else using paper when taping up an engine. Most everyone else uses tape on the whole thing. That painters tape has gotten crazy expensive! But I would use some earplugs on the bolt holes though!

During the prep process before a final wipe down with solvent, I like to run a propane or mapp gas torch over the surfaces until you see it get warm enough for the condensing water to boil away.
It helps draw the oils out of the metals pores, so it doesn't happen later on and ruin a paint job.

Earplugs in the boltholes please. Primer plus one or two layers of paint means them bolts aren't going in easy

Cummins beige turns hot pink when you get it on the exhaust manifold.

I've seen some Cummins KTA 1150 motors that were that color, and a KTA is a "hot rod" motor

Always cool when you lay down some coats paint on an engine that most wouldn't think of.

ALL that's attention to detail, , , masking, prep temp (shop) sand blasting. Priming, rattle can perfection, pin striping, then you go all the out and give a us a 3.007 sec view of the end product..🤣

Don't you need high temperature paint on the engine?

Biege? Is the engine going into an early model hummer for use in military desert engagements? Lol

It would have been nice to see the whole finished paint job.

So the threads are okay with paint in them? Or do you chase the threads in the timing cover afterwards

I'm surprised they didn't use a hydroblaster instead of a sand blaster. The setup is a bit more expensive but amazing results.
