this scene is a Geordo flag event. Basically he's so confident that he has her all figured out, but then she busts out her villainess energy and makes a face he's never seen before. She managed to surprise him yet again and he falls for her even harder

This was a good moment for Catarina to find out who in her harem has the "Talk to me like that, mommy" switch...

Some people say Catarina can't act. They might point out in this scene all she's doing is reciting lines from the game. But acting is more than just reading off a series of memorized lines. I'm sure many have seen an anime where the VAs sounded completely flat? That's bad acting. Catarina here is really making the "character" come to life. She's going a good job, even from an in-universe standpoint. Sure Catarina didn't remember the right script and was just using a set she knew for the last 7 years, but given how she performed given the time constraints, that's pretty impressive.

On that day, Maria found out she really liked it when Catarina spoke meanly to her.

Best part was the impression it did on the gallery. For those that don’t know or have missed it, at this point she is considered a Saint who everyone would love to have for the next Queen, well minus her mother and her haters.

So when she revealed this “side” of her, she pretty much shocked everyone and got another popularity rise. I’m not up-to-date with the Novel right now, but I doubt she can escape the fate of becoming the next Queen.

Katarina is always portrayed as a talentless character. The only thing she is great at is maintaining a vegetable garden and climbing trees, but that’s looked down by most characters

So it’s nice to see everyone amazed with her acting and saving the show
