Pretty ridiculous clear. Here are my forges so far and item, skill distribution:

1-4: Forge +1 mt Light tome, buy Hand Axe
1-5: +5 mt +6 crit +10 hit Iron Knife
1-6: Max crit max might +10 hit Iron Knife x2
1-6 skills: Adept Sothe, Resolve Ilyana, Wrath Jill, Shade Zihark (so that the mage and archer target Ilyana instead of Steel Sword Zihark)

1-6 items: 2x Master Seals for Ilyana and Jill
