The New Testament: a Quick Overview | Whiteboard Bible Study

The New Testament is made up of 27 small documents. These documents are called "books," but they're better thought of as letters and stories that were thoughtfully arranged into the New Testament we know today.

These books fall into a handful of general categories. If you understand the backstory of the New Testament and the types of documents the Bible's authors used, it's easy to get the big picture of how these books fit together.

"Written by Paul" should be in quotation marks, as only 7 of the 13 Pauline Epistles are considered to have definitely been written by Paul. Four of the others are mostly agreed to be forgeries, and there is some debate about two more.

Maybe I misunderstood your video, and I played it a couple of times. Can you help clear something up? When you first talk about the three catagories of the Epistles you mention that the last column of letters were not known who wrote them or written by other leaders. But later on you mentioned that the letters are written by those that they were named after, such as James, Peter, etc. So they were written by those who they were named after, correct?
