Edit: This is by no means an attack on pique as a footballer. He was a legend and deserves more respect. However, pique cheating on Shakira has made millions of people hate him. That's where a lot of his disrespect comes from.

Chiellini was class and a top CB until his last match for juve. Physically not as durable es before but his anticipation and reading of the game were incredible. He was still our top CB the day he left

I agree that Pique gets too much hate, but the comparison with Chiello was a bad one.

True Barca fans never hate him! He is one of the biggest legends of the club! If you see somebody who does leave hate comments about him, You have to realize that he is not a Barca fan! That's it!

The vast majority of the hate he got from Barça fans was mostly because of his off-field antics, mainly the whole Griezmann documentary in which he rejected Barça and not to mention, his supposed involvement in Messi's departure from Barça and then going on to buy the rights for Ligue 1 in Spain to capitalise off Messi's move to PSG. It's just that people realised that he's a shrewd and ruthless businessman and not the "bleed Barça" type of guy everyone thought he was.
But as a footballer, I'm sure most Barça fans still regard him as one of the greatest defenders to ever play for the club. At his peak, the guy was a freaking wall and was probably the best ball playing center back in the world for a long time. So yeah, it's kind of a bitter-sweet ending for his career.
