Who out there has lost a phone with either of these mounts?

I'm a bit late to the show here. This was exactly the review I was looking for. Not too long. Not too short. Opinionated. Not an ad and with a clear suggestion with a clear motivation.

Thank you!

Industrial Velcro on both the mount and the back of your phones in addition to the X-Grip and you won't have to use the annoying straps anymore.

Totally agree. The RAM QUICK GRIP is totally superior to the X-GRIP for all of the reason mentioned.

Perfect timing on this video! I have a RAM X-Grip on my 2017 Indian Roadmaster, and it has worked just fine for slab traveling across the country. However, I also just purchased a 2021 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro and plan to do some "rougher" riding than my Indian sees. So after googling around, I figured I'd do a search on YouTube today and here you are. Thanks for the reviews, Eric, I just placed an order for the RAM Quick Grip and base.

Love the video...honest, to the point. Just what I needed to make an informed decision. Thanks!

I’ve used a Ram X Grip without the rubber band on road for several years without issue. I’m sure using it off-road introduces another level of complexity. I am considering the Quad-lock system though since they now offer a vibration dampener.

I just bought one for my scrambler, reliability is number one In my opinion.

Quick-grip is definitely the best one because you can use any phone case you want unlike the Rockport. on my Quick Grip I've added a 1/4 inch bungee cord to the top of the mount which I just pull up and over the phone I also have the ball on the back rubber mounted to take out vibration. Has worked Excellent for years.

I've been driving with the X Grip for many years now, I can say from experience that it depends very much on the weight of the phone how and whether it falls out. For rather heavy devices, you should definitely use the rubber band.

I have an X-grip that I mounted a mag-safe charger where the ram sticker was. Works great no rubber bands for corners. Just open x-grip put phone on mag safe then use the x grip for security, plus it charges the phone wireless!!

Thanks for the side by side review. I purchased the Quick Grip as a result. I have not used it yet but I am very impressed with the product. I expect it will be secure.

A Quad lock and induction charger with a damper mount may cost money but not as much as a new phone. It's the best product I have used for the phone. I also have one for my mountain bike and a charging head for my desk. Ram is great for lots of stuff, just ok for Mobile phone holders. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work.

Completely agree with this review. I originally bought an X-Grip mount, but didn’t like it at all. After watching this video, I bought the Quick Grip XL. A far superior product in every way.

2012 called they want thier X grip back lol. That thing is like 5 generations old. They aren’t like that anymore. I still don’t love it but it’s far better than that.

Funny intro. I bought the quick grip, and being a technician if I can't figure out how to put it together, I'm going to retire and start drinking again.

I’ve been using x grip for years and even looping the bike I never lost the phone. However I recently switched to an iPhone 12 mini and that has created a button issue with the x grip so I’m hoping the quick mount will address that. Thanks for the demo

Thank you for this review. I had a very bad experience using the X mount on my Goldwing on a road trip from Pensacola, FL to Rhode Island. This was my first time using Ram products and also the first road trip that I used this. I had almost ALL of the issues you mentioned, literally from day one of my trip. It let go of my Galaxy S8 on I-40 North just south of Chattanooga and the phone got run over several times before I could safely recover it. Even with a sturdy case, it was destroyed. After that, I basically lost faith in the brand, but I've wanted to try out the Quick Grip. I'm ordering one today.
