For those who use the newer version and the setup not working the same way here is some tip: The rope tag radius value needs to be 1 centimeter as mentioned in the video, but after this in the project setting you need to turn on the draw option to enable and tick also the particles and collision radius. After this, you just move the timeline one frame over and you will see the circles. Now you need to reduced the helix subdivision number, until this 1 centimeters red circles not overlap each others. And also check the cubes cloth tags "target Length" option. If these circles overlapping the others, lower the value also.

For anyone coming to this with the new version of C4D (24.4.0), the rope dynamics don't work in the same way as this tutorial. You're not going nuts, you haven't missed anything.

Nice! I always learn something new from you guys! All sorts of everyday life hacks like the Selection Tag in this video are the most valuable.

hi! ive followed every step (mix animation w pins), no gravity, etc... but when i hit play the ropes go crazy in all directions. What could it be?

Is there a refresh to this video for rope dynamics in general? I've tried other peoples suggestions and the other objects in my scene are jittering around and flickering on and off

Nice! the selection tag was like an achievement unlock!

I did this tuorial when it came out and worked perfectly, but now in the newer version of C4D I feel like the rope simulations act differently. Do you know why that is? They start animating without me even doing anything when hitting play. Any solution for this?

The ropes are merging/clipping into another with every rotation, any suggestions?

How are your priorities set up, I went through this tutorial and my rope is lagging behind my cube/connector movements. I tried messing with priorities but nothing seems to work.

Random question. When exporting simulation splines from cinema to illustrator. Why do they open in illustrator unaffected by the simulation? Awesome tutorial as usual!! Thanks all!

Hmm, For some reason I cant get the connector working. Is there a step i missed? Do I need to specify how to connect to what?
