Often I feel like user-centred design is focused on repeat customers, where as business design is focused on new customers. Making that first sale a million times is prioritised over making a million sales on multiple comebacks from loyal users — If you know what I mean.

It can be quite difficult to gel with the general disregard for that repeat customer. However, I think sometimes it's a phrasing issue, or a size of the business issue. New companies will want those fresh sales, where as older companies will want to keep and maintain their ecosystem more. I think if you work from there you can find a company that suits your goals better.

You provide an insightful perspective on the balance between UX and business needs. How do you approach situations where there's a conflict between the two, and what strategies have you found most effective in bridging that gap?

Agree on your note on not stutting down and partenering with business. At the same time, finding the right organization as a UX practitioner is super crucial. Sometimes, it is also important to move on as you alone can not make a make a difference.
