I played the pc gamer demo on loop when I was little.

This demo was actually the first time i played minecraft, though i was starting to get interested in minecraft a year before

I remember constantly replaying this after the timer ran out, each time trying something just for it all to disappear. I built a ship house, lived on top of the mountain, in the snow beyond the PC Gamer logo, in a tree, or even ventured far off into ocean from spawn to just get lost among the interesting islands out there. But in the end that little pond spot (3:29) was always my favorite place to carve out a home because it was my first pick, and its so tranquil. Thanks for bringing back these memories!!

PC Gamer demo hit so diffferent back then. It was my first time playing minecraft. You started on the simple view of the sea and a forest behind you, like ive never had such a satisfying spawn in Minecraft compared to that. Yea that spot is random but the position and all being there constantly felt special

When I was a kid I bypassed the timer (unknowingly) by installing an old seamless windows texture mod. Don't know how or why but it worked.

i played this with my neighbor back in the day. Im glad i found the version that we played. Nostalgia was srsly crazy in this one

I used to play this demo a lot back then when i was a kid. I cant remember exactly but if you restart the demo, your world is still saved on your PC except your inventory will be wiped. You can bypass this by putting items into a chest and restarting the demo and going back to your home and then pick up your stuff. Im not sure if you had to uninstall and reinstall the demo or if there was an option to restart it.

Still 2025 and thought about this demo pcgamer version in a fucking old laggy computer with buttons as a mouse (and was like a aircraft as it sounded loud as fuck the ventilators) when I was like 11 year old! played minecraft demo on tablet also after some months and minecraft beta cracked. and then learned about everything I can of the game I found interesting to know how it works, played servers like Ascentia zombie infected, Capture The Flag, hunger games)/MHCraft (which closed I think, but stole people's chest when I was able to or grief for fun, but was a bit a asshole), just had fun with what there is, there was lots of vevo music, was in middle school, life was simpler and not stressful with my activities, even if sometimes I was bored so I found stuff to do. But after allt this, interest in minecraft and the close down of many servers, and more cheaters, make the game less worth it, and responsibility hit me and life difficulty too. More stress, more back to reality needed thing. I was happier before with less.
Forgot to tell, sorry minecraft I never buyed your game as 17€ was always a lot for me with no income and parents liking not buying game stuff.

3:02 It could be because of the minecraft essential handbook if you ever had that. It's how a lot of people got started with the game, and gave the advice to build into a cliffside.

fun fact: if you create empty world, use dat editor and change the seed, then go to and delete the region folder (technically the generated world folder), you can pretty much play another seed!!!
