That goose was actually not attacking you. As long as it's gentle nibbling just like in this video, that's actually a form of affection to them. Like a form of social grooming behavior. Just like how dogs sniff and lick each other or lions creeping up behind and "attacking" each other. The hisses just simply means they trust you, but not 100% yet.

I also feed a gaggle of geese at a park I go to. They already know me and swarm me as soon as I sit at the edge of the pond. They love nibbling on my shoes. They sometimes hiss at me when I feed them. lol That's just how they are. They are still wild animals and we are walking up to their nest and goslings. They will always be cautious and give little hisses once in a while even if they already know you. Eventually those hisses will turn into clucks/honks.

I’ve got some geese back when I lived on 5 acres throughout the winter I would take 5 gallons of hot water outside so they could take a bath. I did the seven days a week, but you know no matter what I did for them. If I got near them, they were sharp running after me, and petting me go figure.

Brenda I am SO GLAD I found your channel. I'm originally from England and been here for years and even my own family hate Wildlife. They think I'm odd as I feed birds and squirrels, mock me and make life difficult. Then again I've never met anyone who loves Wildlife except those at Toronto Wildlife Center. I wish I knew more kind people!
