I bought a wheel and peddle set to play this, and turned off the traction control. You can get wheelspin in 4th gear if you don't lean on the throttle just the right amount coming out of the turns. It's amazing the physics in this old game.
I used to tweek to AI % to try and make it competitive as possible and do my best to stay in traffic and race with the other cars. It's so thrilling, one little mistake and your race is over.
