1. India & UK do not have "historic ties". Unless you want to call the bad blood between a mugger & their victim as historic ties.
2. The UK is a constitutional monarchy, not a democracy.

We need to cooperate on specific issues of mutual benefit. Not waste each other's time on hollow ceremonial statements.
