This was like a scene in the Godfather,
" It's nothing personal, it's strictly business " and Paul McCartney did have a chance to buy the rights to his music but he was out bid by Jackson.
There are a lot of people, myself included, that feel that Jackson's death wasn't an accident and was based on his mudic catalog that was owned, the SONY MUSIC CATALOG.

Michael Jackson was a better business man. Its just business nit betrayal. If Michael Jackson didn't buy the catalog someone else would have 🤷🏾

He didn’t betray him, Paul literally told MJ about the rights to their catalogue being sold. Yeah he may have not liked that he bought them but at the end of the day he still told MJ about it in the first place

Michael did not "betray" Paul. Paul had the chance to buy back his catalog, and he chose not to. That's on him. Also, not cool using that pic of him for the thumbnail.

It's not even news. Everyone knows this

Paul should've bought the rights when he had the chance and before he told Michael about buying music rights.

It blew up in his face when MJ bought the Beatles catalog.

He out bid him that isn’t a betrayal. Betrayal is all the artists that have had their work stolen from them by labels without giving due credits and royalties. MJ and Paul weren’t the only ones bidding on that catalog. In the end the industry screwed the Jackson estate out of Billions and they knew they never would’ve been able to do that so long as MJ was alive. MJ was an incredible businessman.

He already had the catalogue prior to '85… Thriller was becoming the best-selling 📀 and the squeeze was gonna get put on him! The purchase of ATV Publishing, next to, his scalp getting burned is where his troubles began...

The fact that you chose to use that photo of him already speaks volume. Nothing positive can come from your reporting....but white lies...

"Disappointed" or "Shocked" would have been a better replacement word here

You have the wrong decade, it was in the early 80s that they developed a professional and somewhat distant friendship

How was he even able to buy the catalog ? Like how does that work ?

Um, no he didn't. That is a different man that he made sure to take the songs from. "Paul's" story and portrayal of the phone call over and over again is complete BS. It didn't happen. Michael didn't talk that was off of television.

Those two could actually have made a good movie together. It would have been nice if those two had made a movie together 😅
