he doesn't understand why Asian countries, especially South Korea and Taiwan are doing so well. they are far better advanced in their technological infrastructure, they can do all their contact tracing by digital means and use of A I. we do not have anything remotely close to their digital system, especially here in rural Oregon. They also have well functioning health care system that covers everyone and at low cost or no cost at all. we do not. They have cultures that understand in order to live among other people, that each individual must be courteous and thoughtful, we in the States have individuals who does not care if their neighbors die from infectious diseases. game over. we are gonna have to run the course and maximum number of people will have to die, and nobody will bat an eye.

Everyone has their opinions but from my chair, all I see are tradeoffs and options that are uncertain with unintended consequences. Asian countries have a beautiful monolithic culture. You are Japanese because you are Japanese! Thus, you live as a big family and don’t have to worry about outside influences.
