Fastest Hydraulic Wood Splitter on Earth | My Thoughts on Eastonmade Ultra

When a new wood splitter rolls along into the wood yard, I can't help but feel like things are about to change. Whether the change is for the better or not will be seen today as I give you a run-down on this brand new Eastonmade Ultra wood splitter. This wood splitter is the fastest hydraulic wood splitter on the market today and rivals the cycle time of previously untouched kinetic wood splitters. Best thing about it is it's hydraulic so way less moving parts. Now before I get ahead of myself, lets see whether the hype surrounding this wood splitter is actually true. A proper shake down is in order and that's just what we'll do. Glad you're all here for the first look and splitting of this wood splitter. Should be a good one!

I thought I was the only one who split gnarly wood! Great video with real wood conditions not just straight grain rounds. Thank you for an honest review

I've only ever done this twice on my friends small holding in South Wales, UK, loved being outside helping a friend. We've both taught manual handling in past lives and were initially throwing the split wood in the same way you did. Wish I'd known about the tool used to pick up the logs. Having stopped for a piece of cake and a cup of tea, why wouldn't we, we're Brits, we decided to move the splitter next to the cage rather than in line with the rear of it. The throwing is in a straight motion rather than twisting our backs whilst throwing. Where are we going to get our 'Sawing with Sandy' hit if you get hurt. Gotta love the outdoors, keep it going Sandy, always look forward to the next episode!!

Congratulations on the last wood splitter you'll ever have! From my observation A pile of wood that would have taken 4 hours can now be finished in 15 to 20 minutes this splitter is awesome! Great video Sandy

Morning Sandy! You are going to love that wood splitter. Crazy fast and powerful. The 4 way is great for some consistent size wood but the single wedge is great for anything - especially for some of the big knotty stuff you had today. Have fun with it! Cheers!

Sandy,

When splitting bent/curve wood, try turning the concave side down; the blade will follow the grain forcing the wood to stay against the table. Great demonstration video. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers!

Faithfully,
James

I have been watching "In The Woodyard" and I think he had his for 3 years.
Your gonna love it.
Someone said remove the hitch. You will learn to keep it on or remove, but putting on engine side for in your property so it does not get hit by your wood after being split.
Adjusting the wedge, have a jack so you can raise it with little effort on your back.

Great splitter sandy. I have one petty flaw. I would put a screen in the ends of the channel beams to keep out the wasps

I am from Syracuse, New York. I am so pleased to see that you got one of the best wood splitters out there. You will save your body with it an you will wind up lasting longer too.

Sandy, the bottom twin "beams" you showed that you can see all the way to the other side...I understand all about the possible moisture issue that can arise, but I would add some type of screening to each side to prevent wasps from building nests in there as it is a perfect place for them to do so.

If anyone needed a new splitter it was you. fighting old junk just makes for a long day. would be nice to get an auto return valve on that so you can be throwing the wood in the bin and be ready for the next log automatically. Congratulations Sandy. Very nice machine.

One slight drawback is no log lift but a round too heavy to lift can be halved or quartered with a saw. No hydraulic wedge either. Maybe they could be an addon option for the Ultra. One needs a model up for those. Otherwise, real nice splitter and real nice tour of it. World class stuff.

Hi Sandy like your videos I am in Aberdeen Scotland and run my house completely on wood . You are having to handle your wood more than necessary with your splitter gwhere with a Farmi 36 you put the log on the processor cut it split it and conveyor it to your trailer or wherever. Now it is fast. Having been since 2006 I notice North Americans seem to favour splitters as to wood processors big mistake in my opinion processors save time for you to sawmill. Just bought a Norwood MN 27 something new for me mostly larch. Have fun.
