I still need a demonstration of how exactly this would work, do you spin the shelf or turn the wall? Either way you can only put one attachment in the shelf.

How does it screw together? Do you put it in the wall first or the other way around? Or is it only mounted in the center? It just doesn't make sense, maybe I'm missing something.

You need to get threaded inserts. The nuts you show pull out too easily

The t-nut is easy to pull out of wood, especially in that orientation for a shelf like you're showing.
What you need is a threaded insert that mites into that hole in your shelf and won't come out without an excessive amount of force. So, forget about the t-nut for this application.

Do you have a full video on this? Once you get the bolt in how is in then hung on the wall? That is, how do you screw the bolt into the wall when it is attached at the other end to the shelf wood? Thanks

I think a threaded insert would work better. The only thing i use the t nuts for is the plywood attachment for upholstery. Always great content.

Not only do those pull out easily, with one point of attachment, it doesn't take much for it to turn and dump that valuable Faberge egg on the floor . . .

So, you would need at least two of those for a shelf, other wise when something is placed on either end the object will fall because the shelf will shift with its weight. So, how the Hell do get two of those screwed into the wall then screwed into the t-nuts?

I got some 1.5 inch thick oak from a mill for a floating shelf, they started cupping already. Can you tell me if there is a way to make them lay flat without planning it? They are at the thickness I wanted ya know..
