How to Use Party Chat on PS4

Use party chat to voice chat and text chat with your Friends and other players. You can use party chat while using a game or other application. When you're in a party, you can join a game as well as share game screens and gameplay with others you're chatting with in the party.

What do you do when the other person's mic icon shows an X, as though it's not working, but on their end it looks perfectly fine? (And for them, it's the opposite...) My sister and I just got new headsets, but no matter what we do, it doesn't let us talk to one another. The headsets work, (We can hear the PS4 through them) but we can't connect to each other, in spite of being in a party...

So the other day I was playing with a friend and we had the prioritize party chat option. So no one in the game could hear us. I changed it to prioritize game chat and I was able to hear the people in the game, but my friend was not able to hear me and I could not hear her. In order for both of us to hear each other and game chat do we both need to prioritize game chat?

It’s a lot more efficient on Xbox. You literally just go to your friends list and press x on each friend that you want to invite. You don’t even have to currently be in a party to do this, it automatically creates one. I’d much rather just go to my friends list and click X when highlighting my friends’ profiles to invite them AND create a party simultaneously. It takes only 5-10 seconds depending on how many friends you’re inviting and how slow or fast you are. Which is especially useful if you want to invite them while playing a game, which I do a lot.

Is it not possible to use the party chat as well as the game chat at the same time?? Last time I was playing COD Zombies with a friend online. So we wanted to talk to the other people in the lobby. But the problem was that if we set the audio to game chat then the quality is absolute shit. Also we had a third guy in the party who wasn't playing COD with us.
