Nitecore EDC29 Review & Beam Test! (6500 Lumens!)

Here's my review of the NEW Nitecore EDC29. Nitecore has been very active lately with releasing new flat "wedge" style flashlights; this is their most powerful yet! 6500 max lumens and a max throw of 400 meters. Its a beast to say the least. But it's not perfect. I'll go over the features of the new EDC29 along with the pros, and the cons.

Sorry about the blurry footage in the beginning of my beam test. New phone and was trying something new that I won't be trying again. Plus the sound absolutely sucked so I'll be buying a new mic for my iPhone since the mic I had before was a lighting connection and the 16 is now USB C...stupid Apple.

Too much emphasis is placed on 6, 500 lumens. What's the point, if you can only use it for a few seconds, before it shuts off?!!

Thank you for the in-depth review. I almost bought it until you pointed out the IP rating. I agree if it was at least IP 6 I would purchase it. Maybe Nitecore will come with one later so I will wait. Keep up the great work!

2 weeks after I get the EDC27hci, this gets released! I picked one up on sale and love it. It’s everything the 27 is and MORE!!! I love the manual lockout switch but… I wish the the lockout had memory.

Every time you use the lockout switch, it automatically defaults back to FULL lock mode. If you want to place it in SEMI, you have to hold the MODE button while toggling the lockout switch. Since I like carrying in SEMI, it’s an extra step every time I put it away.

I have bought just about everything Nitecore has put out recently but 8-10 seconds of turbo doesn’t interest me. I prefer so many of their other lights over this. Thank you, always enjoy your style of flashlight reviews.

My edc 29 will be here tomorrow, and I can't wait to try it out.
I have the edc 27 uhi and love it but I can't stand the lockout, it's too hard at times to figure out out how to unlock it. Had to watch a video.
I purchased the edc 29 especially for it's manual lockout and the extra power.
Looks good also.
I'm a truck driver and this light is perfect for doing my equipment inspections at night.

Really like this, but the clip is a deal breaker for me. Ordering the Arkfeld Pro, I live in the suburbs and the output is more than high enough, and has the best clip I've seen so far.
