In this video, Andy shows you how to easily tell if you can replace just the mirror glass, or if you need to swap out the entire side mirror assembly. I replaced a damaged mirror a few years ago after seeing an earlier how-to from 1A Auto. Very helpful. Sure enough, I broke the mirror backing out of a garage, looking at what was IN the mirror and not the mirror itself.

If your shop would sell side view mirrors with backing plates only for 1st gen mazdas, that would be great.

My granddaughter ran into mine and good she had her helmet on. She is fine but my mirror cracked, for now I put a stick on mirror and I can still use the power but it vibrates and it not heated.

Think I have bad motors on both sides when adjusting with the mirror switch or someone used to press in the mirrors to adjust them and messed them up. 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LT
