You can really hear from her lyrics here that when she wrote it, she was not very keen to being a spice girl anymore. She's such a great singer/songwriter and performer and I love all her solo songs but I am so happy she still decided to go back to SG once in a while for reunion tours because SG is not the same without her. They can still be great w/o Geri or Victoria but without Mel C, SG songs would be weird. I truly believe no one else in the band can fill her spot. Her adlibs in their songs are the ones that always stick out.

I'm not into the spice girls or there solo careers at all, or the terrible mainstream music from the mid to late 90s. But this track stood out to me! I first heard it travelling down the motorway on a coach full of bar staff who had just worked at a rock concert. It was 2.30am in the morning and this track came on and we all just listened to it in silence no one talking anymore. Everyone loved it! It's the simplicity of her voice, it really suits her style.

I hate how they made Melanie out to be the "ugly boyish" one in the Spice Girls when she was easily the best looking and the best singer. I just listened to Wannabe again and can hear her voice so distinctly over the others. I wish she would have been more popular solo. Love you Melanie <3
