QGIS, PostGIS, and Geoserver in an Enterprise Environment

Organizations that use GIS often get to the point where a file-based system becomes unmanageable — the file system gets cluttered with garbage data, multiple versions of critical data circulate, and any semblance of a GIS strategy slowly goes out the window. The solution usually lies in creating a central GIS server. Although many turn to proprietary server solutions, there are also many feature-rich open source GIS solutions. With QGIS, PostGIS, and Geoserver, organizations are able to enforce a series of rules for how data are managed within and outside the enterprise environment. During this one-hour webinar, we will introduce participants to some of the key enterprise features of an open source GIS server, namely:

- User management, permissions, and security;
- Concurrent editing;
- Centralized data;
- Centralized symbology;
- Custom forms using value relations;
- Data auditing;
- Automation through trigger functions and other stored procedures;
- Integration with other enterprise systems through foreign data wrappers;
- Sharing data web services;
- And more!

Excellent demo and tutorial on QGIS and PostGIS. People spend thousands of $ just to have half the ease and functionalities of this duo. Kudos!

First of all, great video. We’ve been using this combo for a while in my company, but I’m wondering… how do you deal with complex layer styling, which is possible in QGIS but not in SLD?

What are your preferred solutions for a web front end content management and delivery? I've now successfully built a simular system hosted on Azure using PostgreSQL/Geoserver Cloud Native and am using OpenLayers to make my front end web map and it works fine for me, but I am wondering if there is a no-code or low-code Open Source web front end that would contain a collection of maps and data in a single portal that doesnt require custom web coding.

Can you briefly speak to the advantages of GeoServer when compared to other open source alternatives like the pairing of QGIS server/ Qgis Web Client 2?
