IronMaster Super Bench and Attachments - 1+ Year Review

The Ironmaster Super Bench was one of the first GOOD benches that took attachments. To this day, there are still not many good options out there available. The Ironmaster Super Bench still has a strong case for being the BEST bench that takes attachments for your home gym.

Ironmaster has made one additional change since you bought this bench. The attachment tube now has a screw that you can tighten to make the attachment more stable. No more loose bar doing dips or pull-ups (if you have that attachment). They also came out with a new pad that has a wider section for a bit more comfort.

I had this bench for years. No regrets.

Thanks for the great content! I see in your more recent videos you no longer use this bench. Do you mind sharing your reasoning for using a different bench?

I got asked the question "if I was building my gym again, would I grab the ironmaster ?". My answer would be, it depends on space. If I have room for the Powertec Lever gym, I'm taking that every time. If not, if I need to be able to store the bench, attachments, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to grab the Ironmaster. Excellent product for the right application.

I have a whole Ironmaster setup with just about every attachment along with the dumbells, lat tower and the 2000. The only attachment I hate is the curl attachment. It does not work well at all. I have the hyper attachment and works far better as a curl attachment. Very nice review!

How is the lat tower overall? Is it sturdy when using? How much weight do you think you could load on it? Does it feel like a commercial gym one when using?

Hello I noticed that you have a powertec gym in the background. I also have a powertec. Which do you like better? Just from your video, the only thing that might actually concern me on the Iron Master is that I am only 5' 4" and my feet may not touch the ground but I was just was wondering since you had them both could you tell me which one you prefer. Thanks

I know this is an older video but it looks like you’ve used the IM leg extension/curl attachment, the Hoist, and the Powertec. If you were buying these benches solely for the use of the leg attachment which company would you say makes the best option?

Ok so i have a rep 4100 that i love. However i have a rhino dropped into a rack and do to the ironmaster design it can go under rhino platform for abot 100 inches or so. I can probably use it for seated belt squats with rhino and maybe for suported rows or other stuff. I think its also ligjter than my rep4100? Anyways if i end up getting the ironmaster bench i wont get any of its attachments since i dont need them at all.

Hey Joe, thanks for the review! If you didn't have any space concerns and price wasn't an issue, would you go for the "improved" Ironmaster Super Bench Pro, Rep Fitness AB-5000 or the Rogue AB-2 / AB-3?

I just bought this bench with the pull up attatchment. It is a bit tall. I also bought a set of Mx55 dumbbells. Now i have second thougts because of your thougts on the powertech. Maybe its better in the long run being able to lift heavyer

Great review. Does the leg curl bar come off if you wanna do standing leg curls? You said the pads come off. Thanks.

Hi Joe! Are you going to buy the Hybrid Seat for the bench? It’s got the thinner padding and also wider on half the bench

Hi Joe...great review thanks! I've had the bench with several attachments (pull-up bar, crunch, dip bar) for 5 years and love it....great piece of kit and unlike my 15 year old Hoist bench (also very solid great bench)...so much more versatile and space friendly. I'm 6' 4" and want to get the tower attachment you reviewed. I have limited space (attic office) and footprint seems helpful...but:
1) Does pulley system provide gym quality resistance through full range of pull/motion? I have tried some plate/pulley systems and the feel is wonky and unnatural and not effective...don't get a good pump.
2) How happy are you with the tower...would you enthusiastically buy it again or consider something else?
3) Given my height...do you think I can get good range of motion with lat pull and other exercises?
4) Any other thoughts most appreciated as apart from cost, space is very limited (will need to remove a file cabinet) and a disappointing piece of equipment taking up valuable space would be a frustration. Thank you very much...most grateful for your help!

I know it says 86"for the lat cable attachment...but my experience is sizes are usually an inch or two off depending. Anyone that has this product can take a tape measure from top to bottom for me?

I see you had both the dip attachment for the Super Bench as well as the Matador for your R-3. Which one did you prefer to use for dips?

You can get around the 'shortness' of the lat tower by simply attaching your carabiner to a higher link in the chain that connects your bar to the top of the tower. You don't have to attach your bar to the lowest link in the chain, that's too short even for me and I'm nowhere near 6 feet.

yes IronMaster Super Bench it is a very good equipment that will withstand 15 years of hard training and takes up little space, having everything you need for a small home gym
8 years back you made good films about training equipment
