Bars and Melody—Leondre Devries and Charlie Lenahan—perform their anti-bullying song Hopeful, at VideoDays 2017, in the German city of Cologne.

Bars and Melody are Leondre Devries and Charlie Lenehan, a rapping and singing duo who were Britain's Got Talent 2014 finalists.

After the show, Bars and Melody were signed by Simon Cowell. Their début, anti-bullying single Hopeful came out in July 2014.

Leo and Charlie have since released further singles, their début album 143 and their Teen Spirit EP, have toured extensively across the world; and have a huge fandom, not only in the UK, but also, especially, in Poland and in Japan, where they have made two albums with Avex, one of Japan’s largest record labels.

Bars and Melody’s new album Generation Z is due out in September and can be pre-ordered now.

There will always be haters and fans of any star and singer or big name person. Puberty changes tones and sounds of a person speaking or singing but it doesn't change the person and with time their voices find the right fit for the music. I can understand comparing them to how they were as kids, but to compare them to other people just doesn't seem right. The moves they make on stage is partly wanting to fit in and partly from nerves. No matter how many times people perform there is still an edge of nerves before facing large crowds. You can't bash a kid for wanting to stand up for what is right or trying to make themselves better. They don't put out trash talk like some rappers do with bashing cops or ugly things like putting people down as if bullying. if you dont believe me or agree then listen to some of them out there now. As far as I'm concerned these kids are sending a positive message to the world. Times can change but people still do the same bullying, only now it can be spread for the whole world to see or jump in on with cyber bullying. these kids didn't cave in under it's weight but threw it off and show others they can too if they believe in themselves and ignore the losers that only want to harm or put fear in others because they want to seem tough. but the bullies are actually the weak and sick one, Keep going guy you're doing good.

I cry when I hear this because I been bullied since I was in elementary because my weight, the way I walk ( had surgery because I use to walk on my tippy toes), the way I talk ( stuttered when nerves). When I got to high school I moved from Louisiana to Texas and got bullied by this guy ever day in my biology class because I wouldn't have sex with him. Then I started having seizures 10-11 and people would record them and put me on snapchat. 12 principal told my mom and I that I was a danger to the students and staff. I was home school. Students made mess. I heard that a teacher got me pregnant. I got off all social media. I started hating my life . Wanting to commit suicide. I miss my prom and senior pictures. Now I'm 19 graduate and happier than ever.

This song is very powerful so thank yall for writing it.
