I'm a bass guitar player. If I put my amp on the floor against a wall, I get a bigger sound, but less defined. If I elevate it and get it away from a wall the clarity improves, but I lose some boom. Most concert PA designers now fly their subs to take away any secondary effects of the room. This comes with a trade off though. They usually have to add an additional speaker or two to get the sound pressure levels to match the line arrays that are handling the mids and highs. Good video!

Couple subs together to avoid power alley power valley. Couple subs horizontally for more narrow coverage, couple subs vertically for wider coverage.
Also late arrivals reflecting from the front wall can shift the phase.
You could actually place woofers 6" from the wall facing the wall which can avoid phase shifting.

Great video
I believe it depends on the subwoofer but I have my jl audio sub in the corner sitting diagonal about 8 inches from the wall sitting on iso stands and I’m a firm believer it’s the best place for a sub.
Great video and keep up the good work 👍🏽

Using REW it was an awful idea to place my sub in a corner. It gave me a giant dip and a giant uncontrollable peak. Moved it over about 2 feet and turned it 90 degrees. Almost perfectly flat. That's for my room though. Any of you having sub issues I highly recommend REW. You'll learn something new about your system/room. - PB-2000 Pro User

You said gone git. Rotflol! I have my Optimus Pro SW sitting between my Optimus STS 100s. That's the perfect spot for it in my apartment. Your advice is really helpful. Thanks.

I wonder if lifting the subwoofer off the floor helps it breathe. On my upstairs system, I have both subs 7 inches off the floor, using cork/rubber/felt supports. On my basement subs, I am going to try large RUBBER STOPPERS from McMaster Carr, that I put felt pads on the bottom. I got great benefits upstairs (hard wood floor). I will see about the downstairs subs (ceramic tile over concrete floor) soon...

Just found your channel @Kpaceguy I've got the Marantz SR6013, SVS Prime Towers and Klipsch sub which I'll be upgrading, my question is for listening to music. I'm a hip hop head and love bass but listening to stereo i really don't feel like I get that punch, could you give a t I p on a sub to pair with the speakers or receiver. I'm just getting into actually spending a little more in this hobby. Became a subscriber today thanks for the vids

Hi @kpaceguy I know you formally owned a Bic F12 ( a long long time ago). Would that be the kind of sub that you would recommend to be placed at the corner?

No putting it in a corner does not amplify the bass. See Geddes for info on this.

What if you have a big sub and you put it in a corner but its facing into the room diagonally?

Brother I have a question. Does stuffing polyfill in a subwoofer box increase bass?

Great video! I’m getting a PB-2000 and I already own a BIC f12. Should I try to run duels with them? I will be limited to in calibrating them since my receiver has two sub outputs but can’t adjust them individually. Denon 2500x
