Welcome to the third video in our 'Sounds from Home' series, created by the Unlocking our Sound Heritage team at LMA. In this installment, we take you behind-the-scenes both on the project and at London Metropolitan Archives introducing what we do, the sound collections we preserve and offering advice on how you can start a career in archives.

Aimed at students leaving school, college or university, this video is also for people later on in their career who are looking for a change in role.

London Metropolitan Archives is one of ten regional hubs across the UK to join the British Library’s Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), which aims to digitally preserve almost half a million rare and at-risk sound recordings, establish a network of audio preservation centres across the UK and engage more people with the value of sound recordings.
