The story and the interconnectivity of the characters in Naruto is just genius, and I love Allonsyyy's reactions, I realized watching the show for the first time and making comments at the same time are pretty distracting, when you really just want to focus on the show

The scrolls open, and it's a summoning jutsu! Turns out those earlier guys were just KO'd by an angry teacher, luckily Iruka doesn't have to do that to Team 7. As Iruka explains, the Forest of Death was important for ensuring that as Ninja they can follow strict orders, as well as obtain and maintain confidential intel, against unknown or well-known opposition and unfamiliar territory, key tasks a ninja may find themselves set to do.

Oh yes, Orochimaru is one of three legendary ninjas from the Leaf, the 'Sannin' or 'Three Sages', Orochimaru however is the only one to have gone rogue.

Before we get to the third round the Hokage does lay it bare for the kids; this is all just sport. A planned game of showing which village's batch has the stronger candidates, using that bragging rights game in place of war.
But with 7 Teams passing, the third round is about to begin.
