When to use apostrophes - Laura McClure

“Lucas’s robots” is correct. Because Lucas’ robots means the robots belong to multiple Lucases

“The Robinsons’ robots” is correct. Because “Robinsons’s robots” just means the robots belong to one person named Robinsons

I’d highly appreciate if you could tell a little more about pronunciation of the S that stands after the word which ends with S. I’d like to know if the PRONUNCIATION of the S is still necessary even in case we DON’T WRITE it. For instance, is it correct to say “doctorses rooms“ even if it is written as “doctors’ rooms”
