Love them or hate them, it’s amazing what Red Bull have achieved within the space of 20 years. The records don’t lie and the amount of drivers they’ve produced through their programme is serious. Multiple world champions now. Gotta take your hat off to them!

Seb Vettel is currently the most successful Redbull driver. Max can easily get there someday but imo that’s up to Redbull they have to deliver a car worthy. Not easy.

Daniël "Comfortably" outscored Max in 2017. Renault made it easy with 7 DNF's for Max, and almost all happened when he was leading Daniël in the race.

I would argue that it took Max up till Monaco 2018 to grow up as a driver. After that race weekend, he started to drive more sensibly (which he later admitted) and by 2019, he was championship material. If only Red Bull had given him a competitive car then and in 2020, there would have been a fair chance that he not only would have been the youngest F1 world champion ever but he might have topped Vettel on this list already. Plenty of insiders (including Ricciardo) regard Verstappen as a bigger natural talent than Vettel.

Great list(s) and fair rankings as of today (things can always change, that's sport).

Just an FYI, Max's surname is not pronounced _vuh-shtappen_ it's _vehr_ (a more open vowel sound, less emphasis on the "uh" - it's essentially a schwa, but I don't have that on this keyboard) followed by _stap-pen._ If Dutch requires a "sch" pronunciation, it's spelled that way: e.g. schapen - sheep (the ch is created at the back of the tongue and the throat), versus "slapen" (to sleep (slahp-en; the h is used to relax the sound rather than being overtly pronounced). HTH)).

3:41 Yes, Max had more starts and less wins than Vettel did but he also had an abysmal car (or rather engine) on half of his races for RedBull.

It’s difficult to make comparisons like this. Let’s say it’s not an absolute science. 😁

RBR would not be where they are without DC. He basically got them Seb and Newey.

Max was faster than Daniel in both 2017 and 2018.
Max beat him in qualifying, quali pace, race pace and races head to head when they both finished.
Most of the time when Max got a DNF he was infront of Daniel, when Daniel got a DNF he was most of the time behind Max.

Max was already getting faster in late 2016, but I didn't exactly expect better from Autosport because you have shown so much bias against him and that awful open letter in 2021.

Even Verstappen sometimes looks at what Vettel did and thinks….no wonder Helmut and Christian love this guy still.

Rankings make sense if you go by achievements and not skill

Lets be honest, we all came here to see whether Max was no1 or no2

Ricciardo comfortable outscored Verstappen in 2017 due to unbelievable good luck for Ricciardo and unbelievable bad luck for Verstappen. It had nothing to do with mistakes from Verstappen as there weren't many, and also not any more mistakes than Ricciardo was making.

Ricciardo was trailing Verstappen in almost every single race until Verstappen was hit with bad luck. There were like 8 podium finishes that Verstappen lost because of it, and if he only hadn't retired in Baku he would have finished ahead of Ricciardo in the standings.

That whole fiasco with Mark Webber was such a shame and I’d have put him ahead of Danny Ricciardo but still love Danny Ric. And today head to head I’ll take Max over Lewis but then again I’m not a biased British presenter.

Vettel's big opponent during his Red Bull days:
1. Alonso
2. Hamilton
3. Button
4. Schumacher
5. Webber
6. Raikkonen
7. Massa
8. Rosberg

Max's Big opponents in his current Red Bull days:
1. Hamilton

DC should be ranked in 3rd hands down. Without his time at Red Bull helping to develop the program there wouldn’t have been the team that helped Vettel to 4 consecutive championships.
