About the convoke and vortex, the CR says it means that you can "tap a creature of that colour *rather than* paying that mana", which means this doesn't count as spending mana to cast that spell.

Just looked this up and casting things solely using convoke does not "use mana".
Seems fairly unintuitive when you read the reminder text for convoke, but I guess a good way I will use to remember it is to remember that Hogaak can't be cast using mana. xD

I've seen a few people say this already, but just to reiterate: unlike chalice of the void, which only counters 0 cmc spells, vexing bauble counters ALL spells which didn't use mana to be cast. If gitaxian probe is cast but you didn't spend blue, it will be countered.

Seeing experienced people forget about Vexing Bauble makes me feel better. Last week i endstep Enlightened Tutor, wanted to get Sol Ring, a friend tells me jokingly(but i didn't get the joke) to grab Mox Diamond, i agree thinking that if i grab it i can play Tymna on turn 2, he then immediately shuts up. I draw my mox, play it and he points at the Vexing Bauble which was played immediately before i played my Enlightened Tutor

Small note, when Dylan cast the Cruelclaw's Heist, he should've taken 5 damage from the Roiling Vortex but he only took 4 from the K'rikk ability cost.

A case for convoke not counting as paying mana: Hogaak has Convoke, and says you can't spend mana to cast this spell.

Vortex would trigger off a fully convoked spell by broodlord.

Also can Cam continue to describe the spooky flavor of each commander in the opening intros?
